    • Through connection: Ask "do you need to be heard, helped, or hugged?

    • Through movement: Moving your body helps with stress. Maybe suggest going on a walk together.

    • Through nature: Nature helps us feel more grounded and can reduce stress.

    • Through nutrition: How can you help by offering nutrtious yet comforting foods such as broths.

    • Through sleep: While we sleep our brain processes stress. How can you help your loved one get better sleep? Consider sending a care package with lavender to help them set a cozy bedtime routine.

Trish Jonker, is a licensed professional counselor and clinical manager with Meru Health. She has over 20yrs of experience supporting clients in achieving their resiliency and wellness goals. She has a certification in Integrative Medicine for Mental Health and enjoys working with clients on holistic interventions, such as movement, as a way to improve their mental health.
