We’re thrilled to announce that Ian Duncan PhD—Adjunct Professor of Actuarial Statistics at the University of California, Santa Barbara, and a pioneering figure in healthcare analytics—has joined Meru Health’s Advisory Board. Dr. Duncan brings decades of experience in health economics, clinical data analysis, and outcomes measurement, making him an invaluable addition to our Advisory Board

Dr. Duncan is a recognized thought leader in healthcare cost management and population health. As a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries and founder of Santa Barbara Actuaries, his work focuses on:

  • Predictive Modeling and Data Analytics: Applying mathematical, statistical, and actuarial techniques to improve healthcare outcomes and optimize costs.

  • Population Health and Disease Management: Using risk stratification and analytics to create more effective programs for managing chronic conditions.

  • Health Economics Research: Designing and evaluating programs for payer, provider, and patient engagement to deliver better outcomes at lower cost.

His academic and professional background provides a strong blend of quantitative expertise, deep industry insight, and practical guidance, which has earned him recognition within academic, clinical, and corporate environments.

As Dr. Duncan joins our Advisory Board, we reaffirm our commitment to delivering clinically rigorous, outcomes-driven, and accessible mental health support for diverse populations. His guidance, coupled with the expertise of our existing advisors and leadership, allows us to:

  • Further prove the economic value and return on Investment (ROI) of Meru Health’s interventions to health payers

  • Help us further develop our value-based care offerings and models to help move the healthcare system more towards value-based care in the future

Our vision at Meru Health has always been to transform mental healthcare, and we believe that Dr. Duncan’s contributions will help us accelerate that mission.

We extend a heartfelt welcome to Dr. Ian Duncan. Together, we look forward to enhancing patient outcomes, lowering healthcare costs, and demonstrating the measurable impact of comprehensive, evidence-based mental health care.
